Purchased a 1.25 focuser off the net a few days ago to convert an old 0.96 telescope. I was surprised at the quality its actually not bad. My problem is it sits 1/2 an inch to high and my lovely $90 plosle eyepiece can't get focus on distant objects such as the moon:shrug:. After manually holding the eyepiece into the focuser I found it was about 1 or 2 cms to high to work. Holding it down the focuser allowed me to view through the eyepiece finally:question:. So the next day I got to work. Luckily after reversing the metal focuser tube I found it then traveled the required distance down the tube about an inch, this is a sheer lucky coincidence.
I used a hack saw and removed some material, then used a soldering iron to smooth it out.
It all seems to be to perfect to believe right now:thumbsup:.
If anyone is looking for a focuser a can vouch for this one. Easy to adapt and modify and seems of an ok quality compared to othe focusers I was planning to strip.
