Got up twice last night.. to do the moon at 1am at a horrible low altitude of 26° and then Saturn at 4:30am at an altitude of 18-19°.

Seeing for the moon was only average (yet to process), but for Saturn it was quite good given the low altitude. Could make out the CD through the 5mm eyepiece quite readily, and I was able to capture with the 3x barlow for more image scale this morning.

Still a long way to go before I get an image i'm happy with, but more altitude, better seeing and less influence by the sunrise will help in a few weeks i'm sure.

Here's this mornings result.. no jetstream means i'll probably go for another 4:30am tomorrow morning!! argh why do I do it to myself when i'm on holidays! :P

190 frames stacked from each channel.

Thanks for looking.

Well done Mike - wringing all you can out of those seeing conditions and low altitudes.

Cheers

Lovely image for such a low altitude in the sky :)

Thanks guys. I've given early rises a break for a few days. Will have another shot at it next week.. :D

Been busy processing moon shots from almost 2 weeks ago.. my biggest hi-res mosaic yet!
