RIP Jonah Lomu

:sadeyes: Sad news for Rugby fans world wide , the All Black great winger Jonah Lomu passed away today aged only 40 years old .

He will be remembered as the machine he was , un-stoppable on full steam , awesome .

And quite a sight. I remember him steaming through a load of Englishmen years ago.

Very sad news. Great player and great opponent. I reckon there are a few players who privately feel privileged to have been to ones run over by Jonah. A bit like Mike Gatting now 'owning' the fact that he received the 'ball of the century' from Warne there are a few players who can say 'that's me being trampled into the mud'. I think he was at Twickenham when the All Blacks won the World Cup, so that was nice.

:sadeyes: There was a very good program played on Foxtel during this last world cup on Jonah and every player interviewed had very high regard for his talent , that is steam rolling the opposition :D .
I hope they play it again in memory of this man , it was a great show that showed how good a player he was.

:thumbsup: Yes Brent , he spent a lot of his time working with the young Maori and Island kids in Auckland that were dis-advantaged in many ways steering them into a better life thru sport and the Church , a great loss indeed .

Big Jonah..very sad, a formidable rugby winger, perhaps the most formidable ever? He was larger than life RIP.

When I was participating in strongman shows and comps during the late 90's and early 2000's Jonah was so well known that MC's at our events regularly compared the weight and size of the implements we were manhandling to Jonah so the crowds could then relate to the size and weights we were tussling with.

Remember watching him playing against England in the 1999 rugby World Cup, he was unstoppable and had the English players literally bouncing off him for any attempted tackles.
Very sad day for rugby.

Definitely the best ever in Rugby, he could have excelled in any similar sport and probably would have made a fortune if he went to grid iron .
