Hello,
Here is a mosaic of Mare Crisium from last night (8th Oct). The jet stream map looked amazing, the best I have ever seen, so I rushed out expecting superb seeing. Instead, I was met with some weird conditions. There were indeed fleeting moments of sharp seeing, but the overall appearance was an image in a constant state of flux, shearing with small, high frequency cells overlaid with larger, low frequency waves washing over it.
I waited for a couple of hours with little improvement, to ensure the ‘scope was cooled, etc and decided to give it a go anyhow. The result is a little disappointing but none the less, here it is, warts and all. There is more to this seeing stuff than meets the eye!
Cheers
