Here is a full day-night-day TL video including the AAO and milky way taken on the Siding Spring annual open day this year.

The moon came up half way.
Taken with a Canon 6D controlled by the awesome "Holy Grail" Time Lapse Machine MK2, a unique design collaboration by me and Phil Hart. After some 2 years, still the only stand alone device in the world capable of automatically producing Bulb mode ramped TL exposures from 22f/ISO 50/Exp 0.1 sec to 2.8f (depending on lens)/ISO 1600/Exp 20sec.

Great work, Fred! Seamless transitions, fantastic!
What was the object heading south at the top of the frame from 47 sec to 51sec?

Thanks Rod
I think thats the SMC, although that could be wrong.
The seamless was also partly due to LRTL (a program for processing TL). But we did strive to not need that input, hard. Anyway, sometimes you need a bit of help.

That's great work Fred. What lens was that? Nice pinpoint stars as well.
Greg.

Thanks Guys. The seamless transitions actually creates a bit of a problem, its hard tell the difference between moon up and daylight in this case!. To maintain interest, processing to highlight difference might be the go.

An EF24mm f1.4L. It makes stars look like seagulls at the frame edge at f1.4, so it was limited to f2.8 for this. That defect is a shame at f1.4, you pay a lot for f1.4.
