Hi,
A paper published today reports the finding of molecular oxygen on a comet and monitoring over several month suggests the oxygen is part of the material comprising the comet and not the product of solar radiation decomposing water. I presume this will have implications for the formation of the solar system and possibly the early Earth. I'll read the article in full tonight; meanwhile I absolutely looove their mass spectrum!
