Hi folks,

Are there 45deg mirror diagonals around? I'm not after 45deg correct image prism diagonals - I am familiar with these. I am looking for mirror diagonal, like the typical 90deg ones we are familiar with, but the diagonal reflects the light out at 45deg - sorry for my earlier misphrasing - 90 deg diagonals have the mirror set at 45deg,, but that's not what I'm after.

I've come across some wicked bino C8s - got me thinking... :screwy:

Thanks Daniel. That adjustable diagonal is a neat piece that certainly has its place in astro kits.

I now should add the diagonal needs to be a 2".

Thanks Mike, but not what I'm asking. I am rather familiar with the ones you've given a link to, ;)

The mirror is set at 22.5°, rather than the 45° that a typical diagonal is set at. Daniel's link is closer to the mark where the angle of reflection can be altered between 45° & 22.5°.

The Matsumoto EMS uses a pair of these to produce the ultimate 90° reflection. This arrangement of mirrors also produces a correctly oriented image too.

There is a pair of Matsumoto EMS's in the first picture. The third picture shows a DIY Matsumoto pair.

You won't like the quality. :(

However if a higher grade version was produced it would be interesting...
