Here's 20 3 minute subs through a 50mm lens at f4 and the D810a on a Polarie from last weekend. I need to do some flat fielding for the 50mm, so this is slightly cropped. I love the way you can join up M78, M42, B33 all as part of the Orion Molecular complex. The witch's head stands out pretty well too!

We were clearly staying up late to catch this one this early in the season. Very good indeed. So many busy targets in one image. Thanks for sharing Andrew.

Very nice Andrew. There is a lot more dust in that area than I thought and its far more extensive than I thought.
The D810a looks to be a powerful imaging tool. Are you happy with it?
Greg.

Nice work Andrew - very clearly shows the overall structure.

Thanks Ray, I had no idea the witch head was part of the same cloud as barnards loop until now.
It's better than the D800, and is proving to be a good daylight camera as well, although I am trying to figure out something odd that happens with raw data from it. More info when I do...
Thanks Mike and Trish - but I shall not go Gently into the night :-)
It was a very long night of "unattended" imaging out in the bush with me spending too much time in front of a laptop and not enough eyepiece time.
Cheers,
Andrew

Nice one Andrew, very detailed  I took some similar shots last week with my 70mm but it doesn't get it all in as I'm using an APS-C chip
