I keep getting the feeling that I should go back and start this one from scratch but I think it's getting there. Rather surprisingly the clouds relented last night and I managed to get some LRGB which has brought out detail in the background including the 15th magnitude galaxy ESO 488-44 at the upper right. The bright star incidentally is about 6th magnitude.
Cheers
Steve

The mixing of the NB and RGB gives the best of both worlds. Interesting background galaxies, nice colour in the white dwarf, no loss of NB detail.
As the Emperor might say quite appropriately given the astrophysics, the PN looks like an armed and fully operational Death Star.

That looks good Steve. The galaxy adds a nice depth to the image. I wonder if you got more data how much brighter you could stretch the RGB data to show the galaxy better?

Thanks Paul. I'll probably get a little more data. I could probably tease some more detail in the galaxy out without extra data.
Thanks Mike&T. Yes - I hadn't noticed the death star resemblance before. There must be a movie coming up.

The LRGB is a nice improvement, Steve. Watch out that AT&T doesn't come after you for stealing their Death Star logo

Thanks Rick. I'll certainly keep my eyes open.
