On mounts only...Seems AP are moving up to GTOCP4...buuut...they have excess of GTOCP3 which they need to move. Shame the AUD-USD isn't that great.

I haven't looked at the details but there were reports that the deals aren't quite as attractive as they look because the handset isn't included in the price and shipping is now a separate cost as well (probably doesn't matter for non-US folks.)
Cheers,
Rick.

I was under the impression that it's linked to last week's announcement of the GTOCP4 control system (w' wifi, usb and all that). I think they're trying to clear the stock already out there with suppliers which include the now older (but still exceptionally capable) GTOCP3 control box...

That's true, but if connecting to a laptop, hand controller is not needed, and I believe before there was no option of buying a mount without a hand controller (which costs about 1kUSD?).
Anyway, I should stop thinking about it!

Interestingly, Astro Physics has currently limited its range of telescopes to just...two: 130mm triplet and 305mm RH.

Yes that seems to be the case Slawomir. The 305RHA is only every now and then. Perhaps a run of about 12-14 every year? The 130 must be popular and relatively easy to make and less wastage of glass from defective blanks form OHara Glass.
The 130 interestingly now has an element with Lanthanum in it. This must be the new fluorite and a step between regular glasses and FPL53.
Greg.
