NGC104 47 Tuc

Something different for me - a globular cluster. I did pick a pretty spectacularly large and bright one :)

Having some issues with the flats not being able to fully get rid of all of the vignetting, and also there were some pretty horrible gradients in there. So don't look too hard. :)

Its not bad Troy. Colour looks ok but probably could do with a little more saturation. Maybe some short subs for the core too. Good resolution though.

Probably could boost the saturation. Thanks for the feedback. In many ways I like the pastel type colours in the stars, seems more realistic. But a boost of saturation does lift an image's appeal.

Actually, this is an HDR image with 300s, 60s, and 15s subs combined. But I don't really like the smack-you-in-the-face HDR, so it's more subtle.

Yeah, I didn't notice it til after processing :( Never imaged the area before, and don't often see images of it this wide. Live and learn.



Cheers mate. Since Astrofest I've been tweaking gear (changed over to Losmandy D saddles/dovetails etc, new rings etc), then doing some testing with gear and software. This is the first real image I've had a chance to capture. More on the way ;)

TMB92SS with Orion Flattener, QSI583ws, Astrodon filters.

L was 20x 5mins with some shorter 5x 60s and 5x 15s subs for the core
RGB was binned 2x2 10x 2mins from memory.
