I am thrilled to actually be home to see this. We are approaching the max....in a stirring change we have both clear skies and a nice view from my house.
My work has kept me so busy lately that I have not had much chance to see the night sky...this is joyful to see. Sorry that not everyone can enjoy this sight for my sore eyes.

Excellent Scott, thanks for the pic! LOL, I've had local people tell me they saw the "Supermoon eclipse"!
"Supermoon" is rubbish for a start, 1% larger than the last Full Moon and not a huge difference that you'd notice visually between perigee & apogee moons anyway. But the hype gets people out looking at the Moon, people who'd otherwise never give it a glance. And when they see a BIG Moon rising above the horizon, they wax lyrical about seeing the huge Supermoon. And the legend grows!
But of course it's just the Moon illusion, when it often looks much bigger close to the horizon than it does when it's high in the sky! For this eclipse, the people who claimed to see it locally just saw a big orange Moon rising through dust. Hard to convince them - they reckon I'm an idiot (which I am, but not for this! ;) )!
Thanks again -
Cheers -
