A strong Hydrogen Alpha emitting nebula located in the Large Magellanic Cloud (one of our neighbouring galaxies) is located 160 000 light years away.
This image consists of 2 hours of Hydrogen Alpha data with 1 hour and 40 minutes of Oxygen data mapped as Ha O O in the RGB channels in Photoshop. I was just mucking around with this and have Sulphur data as well but kind of like this image. Stars are terrible.
Taken with my TEC 140 on an Astrophysics 1100 mount with SBIG 8300m and self-guiding filter wheel.
