Comet C/2006 T1

Cant see on the forum whether this has has been posted but David Levy discovered another comet close to Saturn on the 2/11/06 at mag 10 .Don't know if it can be imaged ....Dennis :D

:) yeah ....wish I had the gear that I have now when Shoemaker-Levy9 hit jupiter in 94 :P , imagine the collective frenzy of plantery imagers if something similar happened :)

Seriously though, I'll download the latest elements in either Starry Night, The Sky or SkyTools (depending on who posts them 1st) and have a go.:thumbsup:

I thought Amateur visual Astronomers where not supposed to find comets anymore:P just leave it to the big telescopes and CCD's and satellites:rofl: then when they get nice and bright we can take there pictures and watch them through our telescopes and binoculars, and when they get really really bright, naked eye.
Just watch the Swift images on the internet then you can discover lots,but not this one:shrug:

Ron,

No amateur's can still find comets, as there are areas of sky the big surveys don't cover. I am amazed Levy's find wasn't picked up by SWAN though.
