Hi,

I’m László Bagi, a hungarian astrophotographer. I attached my latest work about the M31 (Andromeda) galaxy, I hope that you will enjoy it and its quality is enough to publish it on the APOD site.

Here is a short descrition about the picture:

I always wanted to make a photograph about the M31 galaxy, so I decided to spend lots of hours under the hungarian sky. The pictures were taken in Öcsöd, Békés county and Ágasvár, a famous place for the hungarian sky-lovers in the northern hungarian mountains.
I made all photographs with my custom made 200/800 newtonian astrograph on a modified SkyWatcher NEQ6-Pro and a modified Canon 600D camera. I guided with the Lacerta M-Gen.
The final picture has 170 pieces of 5 minutes long and 50x30 sec exposures at ISO800, my main plan was to capture the finest details of the galaxy.

Hi Laszlo,

Very nice picture of the mighty Andromeda galaxy showing fine details, well done

Just to clarify, is this an APOD or would you like to submit it to APOD? If you want to submit your image to APOD, you will need to go here: http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/lib/apsubmit2015.html

It's very nice László. The dust lanes have good cotrast and the galaxy is very detailed. Just one comment I would make is that the core is a little bright and obscures the detail close to it. Perhaps tone it down a bit.

Very nice, László. Any chance of posting a link to a high resolution version?

Cheers,
Rick.

Hi all,

First of all, thank you for replies! :)

Yes, the image was sent to APOD, I hope that they will find it good enough to publish it.
My goal was to have the most possible details. I tried to adjust the inner core but I'm losing details by the outer regions. It was not an easy target, it is bright, this is why I decided to make shorter exposures about the core and longer about the whole galaxy.

I will try to share a higher resolution image.

Thank you guys!

That's beautiful Laszlo, with excellent detail.
Worthy of an APOD too.

Welcome Laszlo,

that is a nice looking M31. Good detail in the dust clouds. Maybe just a little too much magenta, but still very nice.

Dear Paul,

Yes, you are correct, there is a little more magenta as needed, but if I correct it, I'm losing details in the H-Alpha regions. I tried it, unfortunately it is not working.

Dear Tim,

Thank you that you wrote in my mother language, it was a nice gesture!

Köszönöm!
