Was testing my telescope without the Flattener Reducer last night, getting a lot better FWHM (~3.5 vs 5.5) so that is just another reason for me to think that the spacing is off by a few mm.

Tried getting 3-4 hours of time on it, not quite though. My estimation was way off on how long it would take before it moved into the tree line plus having to take out a couple of bad subs. Ended up with.

3x1200 Ha
2x1200 OIII

Flat and Bias subtracted but no darks and it is very evident! There is also a slight bit of ghosting that occurred on the OIII data causing two streaks, little bit of dew.

hi colin,

really nice test, lovely colours.
i tried to remove that odd ghosting effect for you (via artificial flat subtraction method) although doing so stuffs the outer shell. not sure your spacing is off  stars and field look pretty good to me. looking forward to more.

cheers

Yeah that's a part of the reason I didn't bother too much with the ghosting, that and I did a very lazy job on this because it was a test.

This is actually without the flattener, just looks okay because it is a pretty heavy crop :)
