Hi all. I know starless isn't everyone's kettle of fish, but I quite dig it. There is something amiss with my SII data somewhere.

I just discovered selective colour layering after the image is flattened. Quite powerful.

Thanks for looking

I quite like that Scotty.

Do you have a link about the selective colour layering? It sounds interesting.

Greg.

Aaaah, yes, while these colours express less love they do look good and very 70's with the green/brown/orange tones

Interesting view, I like it :)

Im a bit partial to starless, and this is a cracker. I like the colour. That layering sounds interesting.

Thanks Greg and fred.

The selective colour is a photoshop adjustment layer. You just select which colour range you want to play with and adjust the sliders.
I found it on bf-astro.com

Mike, I love the 70s! My palette inspiration attached! :D

Thanks Scott.

That is a useful link. I've often admired that colour palette and think it suits many narrowband objects. Good timing as I have a couple of narrowband images I am about to process.

Greg.

No worries Greg. Happy to finally be giving something back!
The most intense adjustments come from the neutral and black colour selection. And just as a reference, I have uploaded the image prior to selective colour layering (or there abouts)

There is definitely something cool with these starless renditions. A nice view indeed

Thanks Rodney. Fortunately it is pretty simple with Straton. BUT your subs have to be really good in regards to calibration, otherwise it looks like schyt!

Very interesting colours Scott

I like your interpretation of the Lagoon, however, as you probably know I am not a big fan of starless images, they look to me lifeless (a bit like a ghost town)...

Thanks slawomir. The star positioning on the starry version was crap. Looked terrible.

Hey Scotty, that's funky - as in James Brown funky.

Very bold colours, kinda cool I reckon:)
Not sure if you're familiar with these links, but you might find the recipes interesting if you like creating with PS & selective colour :)
