Has anyone got a SCT Female to T-thread Male Very Low Profile Adapter they dont need anymore. I find with my present 30mm sct to T-thread adaptor their is only just enough room for the camera attached to my lx90.

Is the adapter you have atm the standard one , T thread on one end of a tube and a loose C "nut", like this one (http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00009X3V8.01-AHHEPRVVVW5QN.LZZZZZZZ.jpg)

The other option is one like this. The tube unscrews leaving a female C thread and a male T thread

Hi paul,
The adaptor i have is similar to the one shown in your first post except the tube is 30mm long including the T thread part. What im looking for is similar to the part that unscrews from the tube in your second post.

They are pretty handy. You can pick one up from Bintel for about $60 if no one here has one for sale. It's called an Orion Prime Focus Camera Adapter.

Thanks for the info paul , i had a quick look on the orion site but it didnt say the thread was a 'C' thread ? I was at Bintel a few weeks ago and discussed my problem with an assistant there and he didnt know of anything that would Do. But if anyone has one of these adaptors they dont use i'd be very interested.

Part of the problem I found was that normally they aren't pulled apart and are just used as is. I needed it to fit the 6.3 meade Focal reducer to my refractor and come across this site (http://www.clearvueoptics.com/newest_products.htm) that showed it seperated (second last item at the bottom of the page).

Good luck with finding one. I put the call out a few weeks ago........and ended up buying one from Bintel :P

Try Scopestuff at http://www.scopestuff.com/ss_talp.htm

"SCT Female to T-thread Male Very Low Profile Adapter

This ring has female SCT Schmidt threads on one side and male
T-threads on the other side, with the lowest profile available.
Great for those applications where you need every bit of in-focus
possible. 1.485" diameter light-baffled interrior, 2.20" outside
diameter. Black anodized aluminum".

Philip, as well as the unit Dennis has listed above, Scopestuff have a shorty adapter #tass (http://www.scopestuff.com/ss_tadpt.htm) (I have one) which may be more suitable for the LX90, as it will still allow your camera to clear the forks and allows rotation of the camera to get the optimal position which the #talp may not. Baader also make an adapter which you can see in this image (http://www.alpineastro.com/eyepiece_adapters/eyepiece_adapters.htm#Short%20TAdap ter) . If I were to buy again I would probably pay a few extra dollars for the Baader unit.

Phil makes a good point here. On a non-related matter, I regretted buying a cheap Pentax K Adapter (NOT from Scopestuff btw, their stuff has been excellent) and it took me a couple of wasted imaging sessions to realise that the poor mechanical fit between the PK adapter and my camera was causing star trails and out of focus images. It is worth paying good money for accurately machined adapters.
