I recently acquired a Sirius Observatories 2.3 dome :Dand also an incredibly sturdy steel pier. It would without doubt be already bolted to the base were it not for the fact that the pier is a little too short for the walls of the observatory to allow me to see below about 30 degrees.
As you can see from the photos it needs a little TLC - easily done and it will be perfect for anyone who doesn't need the height I need.
It stands at 96 cms tall to the top of the rack plate (the top one in the picture). It was originally for a SCT used visually only. You will presumably need to have the top plate modified to suit your mount.
As you can also see it comes with a very strong and useful wooden table around it that can be removed if need be. The black tables shown around it come with it but again totally optional - they are not attached.
A pier of this size and strength would almost certainly set you back close to $1000. I'm happy to accept $500 to anyone who wants to collect it from Nundah.
