I took a 5 minutes shot, then a 3 minutes shot, then a 2 minutes shot, then a 1 minute shot then a 30 sec and a 15 sec shot at ISO 400 quickly before the sun rise. Had to image M42 quickly as the sky was blue already.

total time 11 minutes and 45 sec. used layered mask for the core so it doesnt burn out. not that happy with it. Should have started imaging it more sooner. :P

Great colours in there. Love that blood red star to the left of M42.

Wonderful image Eric, the colours are superb as is the detail.
Do you suffer from sleep deprivation :zzz2:or are you also training for a James Bond type of secret mission :D .

i was up at 5am this morning going to a meeting and spent about 5 minutes just eyeballing this area.

:lol: nooo you guys probably think i have no life besides astrophotography. :lol: I do work, spend time with the mrs, go clubbing, bars, poker nights etc. etc . Just happens that i sleep a few hours a day..still young :D

Hi lee, I think the diff spikes might be due to the morning frost from the primary mirror since the scope was out from 4pm - 6am or the morning sky glow. *shrugs*
