Hi Folks, whilst re-learning how to do LRGB imaging again with a Ccd, I was shooting some stuff with the Sw newt (8") and the cooled 60Da.
Not quite the staff of Gandalf , more like the paper clip of Monty Python!.
Anyhoo.
Corona and the glob 6723, over a few nights, yes it takes me a few nights to get four hours 15 minutes., Snake Nebula less than two hrs,
DSS, StarTools, .
It's not a Tak, but I love it and would dearly love the bigger SW. Yes I would buy another SW. Easy collimation. Nice build. Not a bad focuser. If you are after the ultimate in scopes, for a budget. I would say yes.

not bad at all dr. graz! some great information there
i would love to image this section myself but alas my scp is well hidden by a huge peppermint tree next door!
my lovely old mam bought a family camper so hopefully my brother and may get out the next new moon to darker skies
my brother is thinking about doing a cooling mod himself on his 60d graham, how low below ambient can it do mate?
pat
............... oh what do you give up on?

hi graham,

nice work, some my fav parts of the sky. i like the star colour on the snake although the blue star is a bit crunchy.
you've done pretty well on corona and the glob for 4 hrs thought you may be able to tease out a bit more dust and colour? star shapes are better on the snake not sure the cause of this.

agree with you on the SW really good value.

Cheers

Not bad efforts there Graham. For a small amount of data you have managed to show some nice detail. With more data you could squeeze some more out of your corona. As they stand I like the snake best out of the two.
