Hi all,

Sneak peak of my next project: the Eagle and Swan, this time with 30 minutes (1 exposure each) assigned to hydrogen alpha, sulphur II and oxygen III in the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope colour scheme.

Coming along quite well and I'm very pleased with my mount's tracking performance!

Slightly larger version available here (http://scratch.hqphotography.com.au/m16m17.html).

Thanks for looking!

Two in one shot. Very cool. What's this palette you're talking about? The order you've listed the channels to RGB?

I'll have to remember that order, makes the skies look like they're on FIRE!

I'm not a big fan of CFHT for most objects but that doesn't look too bad, H!

What a distinctive colour! Treacle? I like it, a good start. Love the fov

Thanks, gents!

Was a quick test; I thought, why not try something a little different.

I can see myself presenting this in several renditions and orientations... if the clouds ever leave. It's been ten nights now.

That's really nice H, and a great colour palette too.
I like how M16 really does look like a soaring eagle at this scale and orientation.
Looking forward to the coming renditions!

Nice wide field Humayun. What about a mosaic that would also include M18? :)

Looking forward to more renditions.

Excellent H, I love the palette, it makes a common view look completely different.

Very fine. I like the colour scheme here. Looks like the sunset eagle is about to swoop down on the unsuspecting swan.

Thank you, gents!

Sadly, I'm quickly running out of time on this. It's been almost 2 weeks since we've had a cloud/rain free night down this way. Given that M16/M17 are now setting beyond 45 degrees around 10:30-ish, it might be one that has to wait until next year. :(

Slawomir, maybe next year. :)
