Yeah, at work we had a '6000 year world' nutter who asked how many flying saucers I'd seen in the scope. And he was serious ..

Occasionally meet people of this persuasion at our Urban Observer nights. I always tell them they are welcome to worship at my telescope any time.

I nearly fell off my chair laughing (NFOCL) at these posts. It is incredible just how stupid some people are.
What are the chances that we are wrong and they are correct in their thinking?
Cheers:) (I'm going into hiding behind the couch)
Chill. The only thing that's incorrect in that post is the photo. :P

Ummm, Middle Eastern, of a non-Christian persuasion. Which sort of surprised me actually. He was just a one-off special. We employ a 'United Nations' where I work and 99.9% are as regular nice people as I am. ( And THAT is saying something !! )

And the claim that this is a rare event ;)
True, although that would depend on how you define "visible". Because if that process involves the observer's brain in any way (as opposed to just photons hitting their retina without further processing), you might find 3 centuries between two such occurrences is about right for the average FB user.
