G'day All

I need some help :help:.

After selling everything I pretty much had at the start of the year (mount, scope, the lot) due to family crisis and personal issues. I am now looking to start over again and some how get back into the Astro world/community.

I can't stay away it has been a big part of my life for so long.

I have meager financial abilities at the moment. But, if someone needs to off load some excess or old equipment, or perhaps make some room in the obs after upgrading. I may be interested in purchasing if the amount falls within my budget.

I am looking for some simple equipment to start up again, a refractor and mount. But something decent enough so I can get back into astrophotography in the future.

I am looking for something similar to the following:

MOUNT: Celestron CI700 (I know an oldie!) or a Losmandy G11-S (Non goto) or with Gemini 1/2.

OTA: APO/ED refractor in the 100-130mm range. My ideal OTA on my budget would be the 100ED or 120ED pro gold tube (preferably 120ED), this is the older version as my finances won't stretch to the newer variant. Or any other half decent refractor (i.e. Meade 127 APO or Orion 110mm ED or EON).

Any assistance anybody is able to give would be greatly appreciated. I do have some (a little) money and I am not looking for a hand out! Just some help to get back into this great life/passion.

If you are looking to reduce some of your equipment and it falls within my budget range I would be delighted to hear from you.

Cheers

And it is great to be back!

Regards

Gav

You guessed it - Bump Again!

Just thought I would add some further ideas for the used type of equipment I am searching for or interested in.

These are in preferred order (No 1 being the highest preference):

OTAs/Scopes:

1. 127mm APO Triplet (i.e. Meade or clone)
2. 120mm ED APO (i.e. SW ED Gold/BD or Equinox, Orion EON, maybe a Saxon ED - but don't know much about these and reviews are limited)
3. 110mm ED APO (i.e. Orion EON)
4. 100-102mm ED APO (i.e. SW ED Gold/BD, Orion Premium ED, once again maybe a Saxon ED but uncertain about their abilities and quality (inc manufacturer quality control))
5. Celestron C8

Mount:

1. Losmandy G11 (Gemini 1 or S version)
2. Celestron CI700
3. SW AZ-EQ6
4. SW NEQ6 PRO
5. Orion Atlas (EQ6 Equivalent)
6. SW AZEQ5 (this mount is still only a consideration, as I am worried about it not meeting my longer term needs in AP and then having to reinvest in another mount - not many reviews around)

In relation to the mount, I am looking for something with a preferred load capacity of 45-60lbs.

Cheers

G'day All

I am withdrawing this wanted ad.

I haven't found what I am looking for yet, but this seems to be a futile exercise.

I will resort to periodically checking the for sale forum.

Thanks to those who did contact me, but wasn't quite what I was after or was out of my price range.

Cheers
