Hi
I was advised by a few members on what to buy to be able to do Astrophotography with a cannon 5D.
I was recommended either a skywatcher star adventurer
I was just wondering are there any other setups/mounts I can use if I cannot find a skywatcher second hand ?
Cheers

hi Jason,
Firstly, you can start taking photos without a mount.
timelapses can be good or landscape shots. for example this is just me playing around with a new (cheap) lens (canon 50mm f1.8), no tracking mount https://www.flickr.com/photos/80336656@N07/14077367612/in/dateposted-public/
Secondly if you are handy and have some time you could build your own tracking mount http://www.garyseronik.com/?q=node/52

what lenses do you have? the star adventurers are pretty new from memory so it may be hard to find second hand one. more likely a polarie or similar.
edit just saw someone has posted in the forum using one recently http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=124922&page=2
Clear skies!

you might look for ioptron tracker or vixen polarize secondhand -if you want to go a bit bigger you could look for eq3 mojnt [capable of holding small telescope -but not very portable]
