Hello everyone.

This Aurora was a total to surprise to us and most people watching and waiting. There was news the sun had a average flare but the direction was good. I was first alerted to the activity by a image which was posted by a member of a Facebook group.
After taking a couple of images from the back veranda we headed to my local beach accompanied by first my wife than later my friend
And here is the result
Pentax kx 20 sec subs @ ISO 3200.
Regards Paul.

Nice shot Paul - was thinking of heading down your way last weekend Paul, but didn't make it, pity.

Next time for sure!

Cheers,
Rohan

My GUess with it all was this was a coronal hole high speed stream (CHHSS) rather than a flare, the best auroras (from Vic) seem to be from these. The flare I think landed the sunday night but we were a little clouded out to see it.
