The two pictures below were taken over the last two nights the first is 30x3min subs and the second 25x5min subs , taken with a nightscpe camera through a SW 120ED with 0.8x orion focal reducer. The 5 min picture seems to show a little bit more detail and better star colour.

Very nice, You'd expect the 5 min one to show more detail, it's got
35 mins more total exposure, which is quite significant. Obviously 18 x 5mins would have given a direct comparison, so you could have seen what benefit 5 min subs provided.

yes 5ash could you do what raymo says and restack 18 times 5?
it would be a very interesting comparison actually!

Here they are first is 30 x 3min subs and second 18x 5 min subs.

Very nice images with many details. Good color. It deserves a bit more processing for reduce the skyglow and enhance details.:thumbsup:

Wow can really notice the difference in noise levels between the the 3min and 5min.
Star colours are also much nicer in the 5min image.
