Here's one of the deep-sky shots that I have taken with the Nikon D810a that I'm reviewing for Sky and Telescope.
It's the Veil Nebula (http://www.astropix.com/veil_nikon_d810a.html).

16 x 8 minute exposures at ISO 800.

ok processing aside that looks pretty cool - so this is a NiKON copy of a canon60Da? looks like it would easily please a lot of people? So what software can you use with the camera? or do we have to wait for the article in S&T

Sorry you don't like my processing.
It's not a "copy" of the 60Da. It is a modified D810 that passes more Ha wavelengths.
?
I used BackYardNikon and Images Plus.
You will have to wait for the article in S&T for the full review.

Nice Job Jerry. Seems to be showing quite a bit more than an unmodded camera would.
