I've come into possession of two boxes of orrery parts via a private sale. Unfortunately there was no documentation with them, so I got them cheap. With a little research online I have determined that these are for a part-work called "Build A Model Solar System" from Eaglemoss.

Tried contacting Eaglemoss but no response to emails or voicemail, so now I put it to the membership: does anyone have a copy of the instructions/any other documentation for this model and would be willing to scan and email it to me?

Also, anyone who has built this model; any thoughts?

Hi Tom.
Years ago, my wife picked up a "build your own Orrery in weekly sections" magazine so I hope it's the same. The Orrery was completed and donated to the Astronomical Society of Victoria Junior Section, with the magazines in binders showing how it all goes together. Hopefully it's still there.
Cheers!

Hi Tom,

It is the same model that many on here built back in 2009.

This is the thread that discussed it at the time:

The project wasn't without it's problems, which may explain why your model is still in bits in a box!

The all-up cost was about $800+ from memory.

That being said, the finished model worked well and looked a treat.
