Still coming to grips with this camera but getting closer, I hope, to the right balance of settings. This is a cliche image, I know, but it's convenient for the kind of proving trials I'm doing with this camera.

This image is not particularly deep. It's just 6 x 10 minutes through a RC8 at native F8 and the QHY10.

I had been finding it very difficult to get an image of decent intensity without washing out star colour. I hope this is getting closer to a good balance.

Hi Peter,

Looks to me like you are sorting things out very well with the equipment....good round stars....with more data you won't need to stretch as hard and the stars will be better....

Cheers,
Tim

That looks pretty good, Peter, albeit tiny :)

Nice details Peter, looks like your getting it sorted out nicely. Can't wait for the real images, once the testing is complete.

I've not set up and AstroBin page until now and I've added a 3 MP version of this pic as a " first light " shot. I'm not entirely sure how one links to that though. I hope this link will do the trick. http://www.astrobin.com/196108/0/

Or maybe http://www.astrobin.com/196108/0/

Just a little gritty but a damn fine M20, Peter. Nice colour and I can see hints of the jets. Well done!

Cheers,
Rick.
