Hi All,

Latest images
M20 Triffid + M21 open cluster in Sagittarius
12x5min subs, 25 darks and flats-bias'

NGC 6193 open cluster in Ara + part NGC 6168, i want to use as the 1st part of my 1st attempt at a mosaic,
9x10min subs, same darks and flats as above.

Flt 110 + flattener, Atik 383 OSC, AZEQ6,SGPro, Nebulosity, CS6,
I recently down loaded CCDstack and Pixinsight but too complicated as yet to use.
Any comments on how to improve with processing would be highly appreciated.

Cheers

Hi George,

If your going to give CCD stack a go i would recommend watching Ken Crawford's Video's

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSgO8kIWI5s

My attempts at using CCD stack before watching his video's were Futile.

I have never used Pixinsight everyone i talk to about it say its very complicated.I would not pay a small fortune for a program i would never get my head around :bashcomp:. Its above my abilities.

Your 2 images seem to have lots of noise and some odd Vertical banding thing going on.
Seems odd given that your using an Atik 383 the same camera that i use except i use the mono version. Your other images i have seen don't seem to suffer from it. Maybe you just need more data:shrug:.
What Temp did you run your chip at?

Hi Michael,
Thanks for the link, i will check it out.
sensor temp was -5, the noise and other artefacts are from reducing a 43mb file to 100kb i think, the full res images do not seem to show these.
:confused2: :screwy: Pixinsight seems to be a major $%%&$# but anything to keep an old mind active
