7 x 10 minutes at f4 with my 20cm Newt and new 5nm Astrodon Ha filter.
I'm now waiting for some better weather to collect some more signal.

My focus has been drifting more than usual and I ended up not including quite a few subs. Perhaps the -3C temp has something to do with it. :(

Nice one Dave. There's a lot to be said for greyscale images--stark and crisp.

Nice capture Dave. I too like the crispness of the mono image.

Looks really good. Regarding shifting focus with temperature I highly recommend David's excellent digital focuser, the Sharpsky Pro kit.

I like this a lot. Your gentle careful processing has brought out features that I've not noticed before, such as an eye in the upper right wing of the swooping black bird at top left. More importantly perhaps, you've got the faint, subtle, shock rings around and near the cluster about 2pm and half way out from centre. They're easy to swamp.

Best,
Mike

Thanks for the comments Guys!

This was my second attempted at processing with Pixinsight. I masked the stars to try to prevent them from blowing out while stretching from linear. The bright star at about two o'clock is a double which currently doesn't show that well. It was hard to mask sufficiently due to the bright background of the nebulosity.

The Sharpsky Pro kit looks interesting. I'm currently using a Moonlite 2.5 inch with focusMax. I haven't got the focusing by temperature adjustment turned on as yet.

Looking very good, although it is hard to apreciate fine detail on this small jpg.

That's an excellent first Ha image, Dave! Good choice of target.
