Nice detail, Peter, although harder to appreciate at reduced resolution :)

Is there Ha in there as well as RGB? I assume so since the blues seem a bit attenuated apart from the smurf skirt around M8.

Cheers,
Rick.

Thank you gentlemen...seeing wasn't the best...but given the weather of late... any clear night is a gift!

Yep, I tarted-up Smurfette's skirt a bit :D Plus a dash of Ha for good measure ;)

 Ta..it's been a while since I printed anything...might give it a shot.

Great shot, Peter!

Not sure how you got that out considering the weather we're having.

Thanks

As for the weather...a metre of snow in Orange today !!!

Very nice sharp and colourful Peter. I like the really wide field of view. Never realised that ngc6559 was so close to the lagoon.

Ta Geoff...I had hoped to get the triplet...sadly dashed by the weather...

Nice sharp detail and composition Peter. Colour looks good especially the magenta, but maybe a little light on the golden stars down the bottom. Tiny stars are superb and I really like the dark nebulae surrounding the field.

Thank you indeed Paul for the magnanimous feedback.

Superb, Peter. I like the colour contrast between the Lagoon and the "bigfoot" region to the left, which seems to have less OIII compared with H-alpha. The fine traceries of dust were fun to explore. (We'd be happy to be spoiled with a higher resolution version.)

At Euchareena (50 Km north of Orange), we had the first snow in 15 years.

The RHA strikes again. Lovely.

But sadly, due lack of mount space, soon to be mothballed....not long before the new imaging machine arrives :D

Ta. I just arrived in Parkes for the astrofest....much snow encountered enroute!

Sweet. I am keen to see your images from your Alluna. I don't know much about them but being a German company I imagine we can expect at a minimum BMW/Porche style performance.

Very kind, I think there is room for improvement but am modestly happy with the result.

That makes two of us. There has been a lot of recearch on my part prior to going ahead with this. The Strehl ratios look excellent. The instrument payload is simply better than anything else I've seen, almost by an order of magnitude... We shall see!!

Awesome shot Peter, and beautifully controlled processing. It constantly amazes me, the quality of images that are produced by so many members of this forum. To take such a well known and often photographed object and turn it into such a beautiful image takes real talent. Hopefully one day I can produce images of this quality. Great job mate!

Just wonderful. Very nice natural looking colours and crisp details across the FOV. If anything, I'd say perhaps the stars themselves could have more colour, but definitely a top image! Thanks for the view Peter

Just lovely Peter. The only minor thing I would say is that some of the stars lack colour but everything else is top shelf.

Cheers

Thanks guys....looking at it again... the critiques are spot on: the star colours are indeed bland.

I'm wondering whether my missing "the forest for the trees" is simply due lack of practice due the extended abysmal weather of late!

In any event, your comments are very much appreciated
