Hi,

Both images are taken with a Canon 60Da and the first using the Canon 50mm f1.8 and the second using a Samyang 14mm f2.8.

Very nice Mark, essentially zero light pollution there but any idea what the 4 small light domes are? I'm guessing the nearby hotel is one?

nice, don't see too many good star trails these days.
did you take a stack of individual snaps and stack or keep the shutter open?

cheers

The one on the left is the aboriginal mission Mutitjulu but am unsure of the others There were car headlights in the distance so probably that. Not much else. I also just got notification that my TEC 140 has arrived in Australia so keen to get that going out here. I was trying to do a mosaic with a fisheye 14mm (not smart) but the attached is a 30 second ISO800 shot. Truely magnificent skies.

Hi Russell. I took 77 x 3 minute shots with a one second gap between and then stacked them in photoshop under file scripts load images into stack and when that was done Highlighted them all and set the blending mode to lighten. I did darken the foreground.

Where did you shoot these from? I thought they wouldn't let you into the park overnight???

Nice pics BTW!

From a look out outside the national park David. Getting in at night is my next goal.

I was thinking the same thing when I was there. Is there an official way to do it?
That said, those are great photos.
