Hi all, went to one of my darker sites this morning for another go at the Barnards.

The wind was nearly blowing the mount over, but i gave it a RHG and it payed off somewhat.

2 images stacked in pscs2, 70-300mm IS @70mm f4, one image at ISO 1600 for 160 seconds, and the second ISO 1000 for 182 seconds, so this is roughly 5 minutes worth.

First image slightly cropped, second image is a crop of the first.

Still working on the processing side of things, but i am happy with the results.

I am getting my inspiration and enthusiasm from all the quality images that have been posted lately by the IIS team, i look at some of the images and go :eyepop: awsome.

Thanks.

:)Thanks Mike, I have a few more to process, some with a hint of the witches head, so i am hoping i can draw her out of the noise.

I wish the lens was a 70-200mm 2.8, it would have sucked even more out of the night.

That's awesome Trevor, well done on a beautiful capture.
Fantastic detail in the loop !!!
It'll be amazing to see the witch head, I'll be hunting that one down this season too.

Well done.

Hi Trevor,
Very good imaging and processing, I have tried to get this object quite a few times with no success, its really faint, so great work, by the way is the LENS an ED glass or just a normal LENS.

cheers....Jim

Trevor,

As always, magic.

Beautiful work.

I have the exact same lens, and also a non-IS version.

Unfortunately, I don't have a modified camera; I think I'll still give it a go, though.

Regards,
Humayun

P.S. What does RHG mean?

:)Thanks all for your comments, i tried but couldn't get the witch to show herself well enough, could see her, but just not good enough.

Jim, the lens has a UD element, so a liitle better than the economic Canon lenses, but still way off from the "L" 'series

Humayun, RHG, means Real Hard Go:lol: a bit of slang i picked up somewhere.

Thanks again for all the nice comments.
