Hi all,

I'm looking to increase the volume level of a couple of video files I have. I did a search and found a heap of booster programs, but my 'virus radar' has been tweaked. Can anyone recommend a booster program to me, please?

Many thanks,

Mental.

Youtube Downloader (don't laugh!) - it has a conversion function (for ANY file), and you can adjust volume settings - lessen, as-recorded, or boost.

Look up "Mediacoder"

its an all-purpose transcoder

you can adjust the sound gain.

won't trip the virus scanner

Thanks for the suggestions.

I've tried YouTube Download & Mediacoder following the recommendations, and sorry to say but no go with either. My browser shut down the download of 'YD' & it was impossible to get Mediacoder to download,

My video work is really bugger all (maybe one or two every couple of years), so I can't really justify buying Avid Composer at this time.

Any other suggestions?

Mental.

You could look at videohelp.com although I haven't used it in a while. I use Sony Sound Forge Audio (yes you can import video/audio files) which is about $US60 & is downloadable & is quite sophisticated although it's just a little brother to Sound Forge Pro.

For video & audio use you might like Sony Movie Studio which comes in 3 flavours starting at $US50.

You can get trials from the Sony site.

you could also try ashampoo movie studio.

a full copy of the 2013 version is on this months dvd
in APC magazine.

strange that you couldn't download mediacoder though -
its a kink on a page....

the page is a bit tricky - any of the big "start download" boxes are for something else - i guess that mediacoder must get money for the re-direct.

you need to click on either:

"32-bit Version Installer"
or

[/URL] "64-bit Version Installer"

located here:

Thanks for the further suggestions.

I've picked up a copy of APC, and the disk with it. I'll see how I go.

Thanks again,

Mental.
