Thanks Leon, here's another I've done today - I'm gathering quite a collection of them. Great fun to do and a completely different outlook on things :)

Thats an amazing view Jonathan - how does that happen, does one need a special prog to put it together ? I love this stuff, any tutes about how to etc ?

Cheers Bob,

Its a 360 degree panorama stitched together using a brilliant piece of software called PTGui. You can do some very creative things with panoramas - I've attached my favourite night time one that I took at home.

So normally, they are taken from earth looking up, but now I'm using my drone to take somewhere between 20-40 16mp still images to create an incredibly large panorama that can then be manipulated to get the desired effect - that projection is called Little Planet and is effectively the same as taking a fish-eye shot.

Get clicking :)

Scouring my photo collection for an entry and found these nasty 'circles with teeth'.

Not for the contest, but I was looking at the thumbnails of my images today when I noticed the first photo and I had to open it to see what it was. A sleeping duck! I thought it was fun as it's almost a circular shape (not quite though).
The second one is for fun too (circle within circle?)...

How about me pondering modern art!

I think the caption would read "WTF"

Gotta love our native flora! :D

Do you know what the flowers are? They're very pretty :)

P.S I thought it was an allium but the leaves don't look right?

I think they are just dandelions. A bit sharp, and I don't even remember sharpening that photo. Maybe I had chosen a wide aperture (the background is indeed a bit blurred as contrasted to the sharp dandelions).

Haha the leaves look like they belong to a dandelion. I though it was some exotic flower

They look like you can grab them! Oh, I meant the background is a bit blurred, not sharp (when the background is blurred and the central subject sharp it means the aperture is wide). Where is my coffee?:P

I wish!
I think I should have spoiled myself with some astro stuff today... And somehow I did... I bought a container (a storage organizer box) which should be very useful for filters!

Haha you must have subconciously known that you would reach 1000 posts today :)

Maybe...
It looks like this:

:) I paid less than $2 for it! Well, I cannot really say that I "spoiled" myself, but it's nice anyway. :)

I must go back to starwatching soon. It has been so cold here at night that I succumbed to some sort of survival instinct in the last few weeks.

That's a creative use of a pretty sad time Bob. I hope things have improved for your lady wife and self.
Best Wishes to you both.
