Title: Star party in Gingin, WA
Hi everyone, this is Sara!
I live on a farm in Gingin and would like to invite Iceinspace members over for a star party on the night of Saturday 18th of July (two days after the new moon).
We have open paddocks with good views and minimal light pollution. I'm just getting into the hobby and would love to meet some of my fellow skygazers and have a look through some good telescopes!
Please private message me to RSVP and for the address.
In the event that the weather is bad, I'll call the event off and let you know via this thread!
We have a BBQ available. Be sure to bring warm clothing too its hell freezing out these parts at night. Bathrooms on site will be available
Hope to see you soon!

Have you had any interest? If I can steal the work car that night I'd love to come up, but it might be awkward if its just us. I only have a ****ty telescope we could look through.

Hiya Guys
Ben that would be awesome to bring your 10' Scope and eyepieces it would be something new for me too look through as I only have a 6" im using which is cool still. Sam there are 4-5 people coming plus my uncle and my aunt will be on the property with me as they are excited at the opportunity to meet new people and host them on the property. As for the weather forecast for the 18th it could look a bit dicey but I will keep people up to date and announce cancellation at midday on the 18th. Please private message me for location and details:question:

Hi Sarah,
I'm flying out Friday night, but would definitely bring my scope along if you decide to do this again. Not a bad spot light pollution wise!
Cheers,
Andrew.

Thank you for replying to My Star-party event. I will definitely run another one as this one is a first time event. Light pollution is not a problem here and its my uncle and aunties farm who supports my passion. A large shed is available to with a BBQ away from the designated area portable toilets are available on site.:D

Hi all
In the distances are only 2 big sheds and white sand patches. This is the area that has been put aside for viewing events. The large shed is behind me and Toilets will be to the left of the photo:thumbsup:

If the sky is clear I'll be there with an 8" Dobsonian and a parallelogram mounted binocular + refractor.
But I can't say the latest forecast looks promising. It says it will cloud over on Friday and probably rain all weekend in GinGin.

Hiya Guys
Thank you to everyone who have shown interest in joining us on my first Starparty. Due to the weather closing in on us this weekend I am having to shift the date to the 15th August 2015. (Weather Permitting of course) Please mark this date on your calendar. If you are interested in joining us please let us know and I can send you location and added information. For those who have replied already I have forward directions map and housekeeping information to your guys already. I would like to thank Mokusatsu for his encouragement in putting on a starparty and his guidance and advice. also Brax for pointing out finer details needed when hosting guests on the farm and Scott for investing his time and effort in getting me to the point of getting more involved in my passion. Thanks to my Uncle and Aunty for allowing us free access to the property and facilities. Also Thanks to Iceinspace for providing the platform for such an exciting gathering.
PS Don't mind our 3 cats they are just nosy and want to know who is visiting their backyard .
Sara :thanx:

Hi Guys.
I have been keeping an eagle eye on the weather forecast and it shows clouds building on Saturday and rain for Sunday. I am considering Friday as an alternative as it will be fine. I will review this on Thursday so watch this space.

No point having it when there are clouds!
I can make Friday. It's not as convenient, but do-able.

SEAN !!! Come star gaze with me. It's been years.
I should be able to make it Sarah, my flatmate's mum's sister's husband died, which means, I've been given a car for the week.
I'm keen to bring my little scope, but again, I know pretty much nothing, but do have a laptop with Stellarium. So better than nothing, and I'm happy to just look up and go "Ohhhhh".
I think we need Sean for his awesome knowledge, and THAT scope of his(well the one 3 years ago at the eclipse was awesome).

Conditions look ideal tonight, pretty good tomorrow night (Saturday) but horrible Sunday.
Neither my wife nor my friend would be able to attend if we did this tonight and I suspect the change of date might inconvenience others, so if I get a vote I say we continue with prior plans to hold it on Saturday night and we'll just have to hope the clouds on Saturday night aren't too bad.

It be cool too when you guys can come when there is a bit more light so you can scope out your area to set up. My family said its not being used for anything other then the 2 ponies having a bit of graze here and there but other than that its up for grabs for star gazing.
