Someone may find this useful , just a brief decription and first impression on the Losmandy dovtail system. Recived today and brought from a US dealer the gear includes 2 mounting blocks , one dovetail plate , 2 125mm ring set , a two way camera adapter. All componets are solid and fit perfectly and come in a nice black metal finish . Fitting the dovetail plate to a SCT is easy but no instructions are included in the package but its fairly straight forward . There are 2 blocks that attach at the back and front , the back one is connected with 2 provided allen key bolts and one stock bolt , this provides a firm anchor . The front however is connected only by one provided bolt , previous research has highlighted some disscussion about this but the system is very rigid and i would suspect its nothing to be concerned about . Also i remeber seeing comments about the front mounting block not taking into account the 2 bolt heads either side where its connected on a LX200 , with mine two grooves accomadate them and fit and finish is very nice , should add the plate is also bolted on using allen key bolts . Two thumb screwed bolts either end of the plate serve as saftey points if a accessory is loose .

Beren,
welcome to the Losmandy stuff, it is good.
I tried dicking about making rings etc, and in the end bought the DR108 set, to hold my ST80 guidescope. Now I can find a guidestar simply, and accurately, and with the (non-modded) ToUcam this is almost a necessity.
Being on a fork with an outfit like this will give you grief, balance wise. It looks like it will topple, and quickly. You will need a weight(s) offset to accomodate all that top heavy weight.

Are you going to use your setup for Astrophotography?
If so, are you planning to use a wedge or field de-rotator to correct for field rotation? I be interested to see how you go with it. Keep us posted!
Cheers
