iPad 3 battery replacement

My iPad 3 battery is draining fast and takes ages to recharge. So I am looking at getting its battery replaced, in Melbourne.
I think Apple charges around $100 for the service, other charge less but obviously with non Apple branded batteries.
Has anyone had their iPad batteries changed, either by Apple for a non Apple service? What are your experiences?

I'd go with Apple, they are just as likely to send you an update that disables non Apple batteries like they did with lightning cables.:screwy:
