Hi just a bit of fun with little Fuji Xm1 camera to see if it is suitable for Galaxy imaging. After some of the great 5128 images lately might not be up to those standards but I'm happy with the result.
Taken with 18'' Newt. f4.5
Fuji XM1 1250 iso 7 minutes x 31
darks and bias no flats.
Sorry small size only.
Clear skies Ken.

Very nice image. Colour needs a little work but the detail is tremendous.
18" f/4.5 hey. Big lightsucker... What is it riding on?

Thanks guys might tone down the yellow a little. The mount is a homemade fork with a worm wheel for r.a. and disk and friction wheel for dec. It is no Paramount and has a mind of its own when it comes to guiding.
Clear skies Ken.

That's a beauty! Can we see pics of the homemade fork mount?

That's a great image Ken! Lotsa detail. The only problem is a bit of a green cast overall. The SCNR process in PixInsight clears it up nicely with one click and gives a nice rich colour to the galaxy.

Thanks Rick, Kevin and Geoff this is the first image with Deep sky stacker took about 11 hours to align and stack:lol:. I forgot my golden rule when finished processing to walk away for awhile then have a fresh look at it. Sorry have no idea how to use Pixinsight guess I should learn:question:
Try to get a few pics of the mount tomorrow.
Clear skies Ken.

Fantastic shot Ken. Sharp as. I like your RA gear. Man, that's domino pizza size (with the works). No wonder you get such good tracking. Good stuff.
