I have an f/10 Intes MK-65 Mak that sits very comfy on an RA motorised EQ mount and comes with camera adapter bits and pieces that suit my Praktica SLR.

Me thinks a focal reducer would help me take some happy snaps of the heavens at night. I would not know where to begin looking for one and what's good and what's not and what suits my scope and what doesn't. Anything that could deliver around f/6 or faster would be great.

Any advice would be much appreciated. (Bert, I don't suppose you could make me one? :D)

What internal diameter is your camera adapter about 70mm from the sensor? Have you got any pictures or description of the optical train from camera to telescope.

I will make some measurements and post some photos tonight.

I still don't know where the focal plane is exactly, because I haven't had a chance to try and focus the camera. (I don't even know if I'll be able to do it.) But here are some pictures.

The camera adapter has a helical focuser and I'm guessing the focal plane will be somewhere between 100 and 120mm from the back of the scope.
