Hi!,

This image of the Tulip Nebula includes an area with an intense emission and reflection areas. I have tried to balance 9 hours of H Alpha with LRGB, trying to keep the color of the stars, to bring out even the weakest parts in H alpha but also to bring out the signal from the reflection areas. I do not know if I achieved a good result to do it, but I tried. I was interested to also show the dark nebulas LDN that some times are confused with the sky background and for this reason I have made a total exposure of about 15 hours with HLRGB. I linked in the annotated also the location of the famous source Cygnus X-1.

Cheers,

Fabiomax

Beautifully rich colours Fabiomax. The image however looks a little soft. Perhaps seeing wasn't in your favour or focus slightly out. How is your new observatory working out for you? Plenty of clear skies?

I think I used a little too much acdnr for noise in the elaboration, I having made the images in most nights, I have had a seeing not too favorable. I must absolutely improve processing ( and my english:-) )and for me h alpha and LRGB are really a problem.I It pass two months I install the observatory. One thing is certain: the number of nights favorable greatly increases and this allows a greater number of exposures. Let's see how it goes!
thank you!

Hi Fabiomax,

I like the colours in your HaRGB rendition but it does look a little soft to me too.

I did an image of the area recently in narrowband. It's quite an interesting contrast!

Cheers,
Rick.

Thank you Rick! Yes I have to improve my ability to manage ha l and rgb file s. Maybe I use a lot of denoise. I think to work just with ha and rgb for this kind of subjects.
