Hey all,

I'm just looking into external power for my canon 400d. I haven't been able to find anything already existing. Just wondering if anyone here has rigged something up or knows of a product on the market that I can buy. I'll have no problems creating something myself, but just want to make sure I haven't missed anything simple ( for example is there a way to power from a laptop via usb?).

Thanks in advance for any suggestions / comments

Andy

I use the Orion power supply for my Canon 450Ds, and it works fine and doesn't heat the camera internals up the way a battery can for proplonged use:

I tried 2 of the ebay units on my 700D kept resetting my camera in BYEOS.

Ended up getting the genuine canon AC adapter from a local camera store, from memory it was about $129 so far it has worked perfectly.
