NGC6188 redo

I took this one about 5 weeks ago.

Following a cue form Jase I redid this one with more attention to preserving the stars. The AP Honders does a great job on stars I am noticing and HaLRGB combines often damage the stars. So I refined my procedures to keep the star free from taint and maintain their colour and shapes whilst blending in some Ha to show the Ha areas without being overwhelming.

The NGC6164 part of the image is from my TEC180FL image of about 6-8 hours of Ha and O111 taken not that long ago.

Thanks Chris. I am very happy with this image and feel I achieved a balance between the star field, the nice NGC6164 petal and the Ha areas.
I like the flat field of the Honders. Its like a giant FSQ.

That's a ripper image Greg! :thumbsup: The repro has nailed the scene beautifully. Kudos on managing the star profiles. Keep doing what you are doing there. I agree that this is the best image you've taken with the Honders. Only onward and upward from here mate.

Agressive processing Greg, I like it. I dont know why jase recomended "preserving the stars". He could have recommended deleting them and then you get an APOD. Hes done that before.

I really like the use of the OIII bubbles into the RGB elements. It works well. The Ha is good too. Nice star colours. Certainly agree the best image you have produced with the Honders. Onward and upward.
