Smashing job. You've managed the rather tricky juggle between showing faint outer stars, showing the core is much brighter, and not burning it out.

I've noticed that a lot of people use luminance as well as just rgb. Does this add much?

Nice work!

Luminance is useful for dimmer targets. It lets you collect photons quickly and get good SNR in a shorter time. For a bright target like Omega Cen it's not such a big deal but when it comes to nebulae and galaxies it's going to help a lot.
