Certainly not an original target of late, but something bright to try out my new scope.
Taken with a TOA-130 using a reducer from my trusty FS-102. One of the newer reducers for this scope is compatible with the FS-102, so I thought I'd see if it worked the other way around. :P
6 x 15min Ha images, QSI583. Rough processing in PI - still waiting for Rick's Masterclass!!! :help:

Thanks Gents,
Looking forward to getting a flattener working with this scope. The 645 reducer might have to wait a while!

That's a good Ha Lagoon Dave, it shows so much in Ha

Thanks Mike,
I've done a mega data narrowband image of the lagoon before, so I knew this was an easy Ha target to see if the new scope was performing as hoped.
I was never happy with the colour mix I achieved with that image, so I might have to have a go at reprocessing it using Rick's guidance.

Veeery nice - is it just me or can anyone else see a man's face in profile, looking to our right? Great details mate :)

Thanks Russell & Andy.
If I squint a bit, I can see what you mean - might need to have another look after a few drinks!

A very nice M8 David. It always scrubs up well in Ha and I can see the face in profile quite clearly. Never noticed that before.
Cheers

Thanks Steve & Trevor,
I guess the increased contrast helps define the outline of the "face".

Good work, David! Nice detail and the Hourglass is very clearly visible.

Very sharp, David, and lots of deep outer wisps captured. You've come up with a plausible compromise between showing everything (which makes it look a bit diagrammatic) and showing the true relationship between the brightest and faintest (which makes the faintest invisible).
I've always thought it's Marge Simpson. On a wider field, you can see the signature piled-up coiffure which is here, blessedly, out of top frame.

Thanks Rick, Mike and Trish,
Can't see Marge. I was thinking of another Simpsons character - Professor Frink.
The HDR compression tools can certainly be overused - something about "respecting the light". ;)
