Thanks Craig it was my first go with a new modded Sony A7s, I have to work on the settings and white balance, but I'm happy for first light with it.

For future shots just put the camera on daylight WB.
The moon is reflecting sunlight so daylight White Balance is very close.
This shot can be fixed by taking out the magenta colour cast in Photoshop or something similar.

:)

PS just noticed you used a modded camera, so just take a custom WB shot during the day when shooting again.

Andrew can you please explain, do I shoot at the blue sky or a grey card.

My pleasure, you shoot a grey card illuminated under sunlight and set that as your Custom White Balance.
Leave the camera in this Custom White Balance and shoot the moon with that.

You may still need to tweak the shots in Photoshop or whatever program you use for processing, if you feel they need it.

BTW I'd like to tweak your shot of the moon (this one) just to see what I can get, if it's ok by you?

Much appreciated and by all means go for it.

I'm not much good at photoshop but I can do a bit with iPhoto on the Mac.

Here's just a quick adjustment to WB and a bit of Curves tweaking.
It's difficult pulling out detail from a small jpg but I hope you like the adjustments.
