Thanks Hugh. I wish. Too much LP for that from home.
Thanks  When M8 is up, one simply cannot let it pass by. It's un-australian. Well not full moon but pretty close. It was Monday night. Last night was nice and bright too. :)

Hi, Marc,
Superb! The hourglass and the eight or so brightest shock fronts are all razor sharp and very nicely processed. Love it.

Thanks mate.
Thanks Mike. Seeing was alright on Tuesday at times.
Thanks. First run of clear skies we've had in Sydney for a long time so I made the most of it.
Thanks Peter. Don't know about the cool wall but best to date at that FL. Woohoo! :)

Nice to see all these beautiful mono nebs being posted right now- yours is a very good one too Marc, well done :)
Btw was the title a reference to the bane under Mt. Thunder in the Donaldson/Thomas Covenant book series?

Nice, after seeing yours and PW's 6188 it seems the 7nm to handle the moonlight very well.

7nm is good. I never could afford a 3nm. Pricing is ridiculous.

Thanks Steve. Try this link (http://www.astropic.net/astro/M8_GSO8_ha_fff.jpg) instead. I've uploaded it on my server as well instead of skydrive. I've also noticed that lately, some the photos on skydrive seem to trigger a file download link, rather than a browser display. Not sure if it's file size related.

Hi, Marc,
Came back to this one after looking at lots of mates' M8's.
You've really nailed that tiny dust lane across the hourglass. Fantastic clarity. Top notch.
Best,
Mike
