It's been a while since I last used my camera, so I thought I would share my recent shots :)
This first group is of a poor little butterfly that I found stuck in a cold wet part of out backyard. I took it out into the sun to let it warm up and to prevent our dog and kids from stepping on it.
I haven't seen one like this in a long time, never this close up either. The first thing I noticed was the bright blue eye on the underside of its wing.

It seems winter is definitely upon us! Two frosty nights in a row and another forecasted for tonight.

I have a definite soft spot for bees. They hold such an important role in the survival of all creatures. I especially love their little yellow pollen pants :)
Lovely images, thanks for sharing! It's a shame that butterflies don't make themselves more readily available to have their photos taken :D

The Butterfly shots are not easy to get right that close and on a moving hand. Well done.

Thanks guys :) that little fella definitely wasn't in a hurry to go anywhere. I didn't even need honey to keep it still!
Bob, I had no idea what "grouse" meant and had to Google it! The first thing that came up was a bird. Probably not what you meant haha! Thank goodness for Urban Dictionary

 Yeah, Aussie slang and I never been to Melbourne - the word grouse (which rhymes with 'house') means the same as "Sick" or "Filth" - - - ummmm, that's prob not help'n any
All meaning - Pretty damn good
